Diving Hawk

This one's title is "Diving Hawk". A similar but qite different abstract is on the opposite side of this (and all the "Bird Vase series pieces). If we give a name at all to these pieces, it will usually have the name of a bird or other flying creature. These vases are very highly fired, and are completely water tight. They will not "sweat" and leave a ring on your furniture.

We have been making this style of vase for quite a few years now, and though some may look similar, no two are alike! We always glaze the inside with one of the colors used on the outside. As with all the pieces in this Gallery, we use a gray-white stoneware clay, fired in an oxidizing atmosphere to 2425°F (1310°C).
